Pick up Volatile Substance on the desk, it will give you a extra button for thrown out. Volatile Substance has to be thrown into the alchemical pool within 10 seconds once picked up by players, and alchemical pool will become purple after you throw it in.

Volatile Substance will respawn at the alchemical pool edge after you thrown in, and each player has a 60s cooldown debuff Volatile Coating to pick up a second Volatile Substance. because of Doctor Ickus's random jump, we have multiple players to pick it up and throw into different alchemical pool, once all pool discolored you can pull the boss, the bombs summon from discolored pool are Volatile Plague Bomb which achievement required.

note:
if you failed to throw it in time, you will get stun and Volatile Substance disappear. we done this achievement in patch 35854, I'm not sure it will be changed or not, but we pull the boss and reset the encounter to make Volatile Substance respawn, and it always appear at the right bottom platform.

Full credit to Linodas' group who's videos have been very helpful.

Before engaging the second boss, clear out all his trash. Then start on the lower right platform (from the entrance). Each platform has a green cauldron. On the table of the lower right platform, there's a Volatile Substance. Clicking it gives you an extra action button which you can use to poison one of cauldrons, turning it purple. Whichever cauldron is poisoned gets a new volatile substance on the edge of it. From picking up the first one, you get 60 seconds to poison all cauldrons. When you use the extra action button you can't pick up a new Volatile Substance for 40 seconds.

Without pulling boss, run as a group between the platform and have one person per platform pick up the Volatile Substance and poison the cauldron. Once all 4 are glowing purple you have as long as you want. If the boss gets reset the cauldrons go green again and the Volatile Substance respawns, so you can try again.

During the fight at 66% and 33% the boss will jump to one of 3 platform (any but the one he's on) and summon a slime add from the cauldron which must be killed before it explodes. With all the cauldrons poisoned he'll instead spawn a Volatile Plague Bomb slime. These are identical in every way and can be killed. Make sure your tank keeps the purple slime add away from the bomb so it doesn't have the damage taken reduction.

Once both Volatile Plague Bomb adds are killed, kill the boss.

Side note: If you're attempting this at the same time as Riding With My Slimes we just did this achieve and then got our Plaguefallen debuffs at the end of the fight, two at a time, rather than trying to do the entire boss fight moving large distances and burning the slimes.

Going Viral (2nd boss)

Video with short voice-over guide.

- Start by clearing all the trash in the room, you can pull mobs to the back of each mini island so they will not aggro the boss.
- Pick up Volatile Substance from desk on the right closest to the entrance
- Use the extra action button when next to the green cauldron next to it, the pool will then turn purple
- The volatile substance then spawns on the edge of that cauldron, have another player pick it up and take it to the next
- Rinse and repeat till all cauldrons are purple.
- Engage the boss
- When he spawns the add it will now be called Volatile Plague Bomb (instead of just Plague Bomb)
- Burn this spawn down, then kill the boss.
- Don't forget to jump in the slime near the end if you are doing the Riding with my Slimes achievement at the same time.

Simple summary with photos. Very easy.
Do not pull boss. Clear all trash.
4 green cauldrons are on the platforms.
Closest platform to your right when entering space will have a sparkly purple vial on table - pick it up, 10s to throw it into that cauldron. Cauldron turns purple. A new sparkly purple vial spawns at that purple cauldron. Someone else grabs it and throw into next cauldron within 10s of picking it up. Repeat until all 4 cauldrons are purple. Failed to throw it in time? Reset boss.
Pull boss, fight mechanics are exactly the same. Achievement tracker will turn to white after two Volatile Plague Bombs die. Kill boss.

Want to complete at the same time as Riding with my Slimes? A bit harder. Riding with my Slimes is individual achievement, easier to do with only 2-3 people at a time due to final boss dps constraint.
Do the above. Bring boss to 50% near green water. We all stacked in the green water together at the same time, popped all defensives/self healing. Gain 10 DOT stacks, turn into Slimeform. Last 2 min, 45% reduced movement and 10% reduced haste. Blow all cooldowns, kill boss.

If you're doing Riding with my Slimes solo, stand in water to get 10 stacks and boss must die within 2 min of you turning to Slimeform.

Immunity removes Slimeform.

How to get Going Viral:

take the Volatile Substance on the desk
use the extra button to thrown the Volatile Substance into the alchemical pools (the pool will turn purple)
take the Volatile Substance from the purple alchemical pools and use on the next pool
do it in all 4 alchemical pools
pull the boss
when the boss activate the bomb on the alchemical pool, kill the first Volatile Plague Bomb
wait for the boss activate the next bomb and kill the second Volatile Plague Bomb
kill the boss

Volatile Substance expires in 10 seconds.

So I guess this achievement is not soloable as you need atleast four people to pick bombs each!

Easy Solo for Level 70 Dragonflight & Beyond...

1) Mythic Difficulty.

2) Achievement can be tracked, turning from Red to White when requirements are satisfied.

3) Do not pull boss yet.

4) There is a Purple vial on the desk, pick it up and run as fast as you can to any of the four green cauldrons, then dump the contents of the vial into the cauldron with the special ability.

5) Wait for debuff to wear out so you can pick up the vial again, at the cauldron you just placed it at.

6) The vial is now accessible again, pick it up and run again to another green cauldron, and pouring the contents within to change it purple.

7) Rinse & Repeat 2 more times, all the while avoiding the boss as he hops around.

8) Finally, with all four cauldrons now purple, you can now pull the boss.

9) Reduce boss health slowly and fight as you normally would, avoiding stuff on the ground, eventually he'll hop to a purple cauldron and raise up a purple volatile plague slime.

10) Kill the slime, continue to reduce boss health and he'll jump off to another purple cauldron, kill that volatile purple slime as well.

11) With the achievement requirements met, nuke the boss.

12) ?

13) Profit. Achievement Completed.

When trying to solo this, I had trouble because the bottle for turning the cauldron purple didn't respawn even after after the debuff from using it more than once went away. I was eventually able to get this done with a single cauldron turned purple by just resetting any time he jumped to any of the other corners, and eventually he jumped to the same one twice. To be more explicit, here are the exact steps to try if you're having trouble:

0. (optional) Track the achievement to make it easier to tell whether you've reached the conditions correct. The text "Defeat 2 Volatile Plague Bombs" will be colored red, indicating that the conditions have not been reached yet.
1. Clear all of the trash in the boss room without pulling the boss
2. Click the Volatile Substance bottle on the table on the right closer to the entrance of the room.
3. Use the action button to deposit the contents in the cauldron next to the table. The cauldron's contents should turn mostly purple.
4. (optional) Stand in the green liquid filling most of the room until you get the debuff for Riding with my Slimes if you're trying to get that as well. You can do this at any point before the boss dies, as long as you still have the debuff active when you finally kill the boss, but due to the boss chain casting Burning Strain when you're not in melee, I found it easier to stay alive by getting this debuff beforehand rather than trying to heal myself through all of the various dots.
5. Pull the boss, and if needed, kite him to one of the corners with a cauldron where you didn't turn purple.
6. DPS the boss down below 66% to trigger his first jump and bomb activation. (Make sure not to load up him with too many dots to avoid accidentally killing him early, which will lock you out from being able to get the achieve on that character until the weekly reset). He seems to randomly pick a corner that isn't the one where he currently is located, so by bringing him to a different corner, there will be a chance he will jump to the corner with the purple cauldron.
7a. If he jumps to one of the corners without a purple cauldron, run up the stairs all the way out of the room and wait for the boss to reset so you can try again. (You can confirm this is needed because the mob spawned will be only called "Plague Bomb" and will appear a kind of pale-ish yellow rather than "Volatile Plague Bomb" and being purple). Once the boss spawns again, the bottle should be present on the table again, but the cauldrons will also all be reset to green, so go back to step 2 and repeat from there.
7b. If he jumps to the corner with the purple cauldron, he should spawn a purple mob called "Volatile Plague Bomb" (make sure not to get confused by the Congealed Slime mob, which is also purple and is not related to the achievement mechanic in any way). Kill the plague bomb.
8. Kite the boss to a different corner again to make sure there's a chance he will jump to the corner with the purple cauldron and dps him down below 33% to trigger his second jump.
9. Follow the same directions in 7a and 7b. If you're lucky and he jumps to the purple cauldron corner again, and you can kill the Volatile Plague Bomb again. If he doesn't jump to that corner and a regular "Plague Bomb" spawns, you'll need to reset and try again. If you've tracked the achievement, you can confirm that you did it right when the text "Defeat 2 Volatile Plague Bombs" turns from red to white.
10. Finish killing the boss, and the achievement should pop.

Here's a tip for anyone doing this achievement in Dragonflight & Beyond.

Once you put the Volatile Substance into one of the cauldrons, the potion will *STAY AT THE SAME CAULDRON* you deposited it into. You will then get a 59 second debuff called Volatile coating Volatile Coating which means you can't carry the potion again for that time. Be warned, the potion will despawn after about 66 seconds, so there is a 6-7 second window in which you need to pick up the Volatile Substance again and take it to a new cauldron.

This means it should take you about 4 1/2 minutes to fill every cauldron with the Volatile Substance. Simply kill the Volatile Slime twice, kill the boss and you'll have your Going Viral achievement!
