The goal here is to steer the Doomsoul inbetween the packs of Alliance soldiers, avoiding all the armaments, roadblocks, and light shields. If you run into any of these, the Doomsoul will explode and you have to send out another, thus failing the achievement. Good luck! You will need 100% progress completed and killing/detoning on the Commander Dunuura up the road, just before the gates to Arom's Stand. It may look rough to get to the Commander at the end, but you can dodge through the trees on the left to get past the barrier in front.

"Lights Out" is a vehicle-esk world quest that can spawn when the Drustvar incursion is up. It requires you to take control of a soul, which you navigate towards Arom Strand to fill a progress bar, by killing Alliance soldiers, and then kill a commander.

When you first click the mask to start the quest you will be stationary. As soon as you press the '1' action button, your soul will start moving forward and you will only be able to turn it. The '2' action key becomes available at this point, which will instantly detonate the soul, killing it and everything nearby.

The achievement requires you to complete this world quest using a single soul only.

Some things to note:
- Never press the detonate button to kill the Alliance soldiers. You will fail the achievement. You will only use it to kill the commander at the end.
- Simply passing through the Alliance soldiers will 'scare them to death' and give you 2% progress per solider - so you need to scare 50 soldiers to fill the bar.
- If you hit any of the wooden or holy barriers you will detonate on them. Go around them, giving yourself plenty of space if possible.
- If you want to play it really safe, you can stick to only passing through the Alliance soldiers on patrol as they pose the least risk of you hitting a barrier.
- The commander can be tricky to get to without detonating on the barrier, but I was able to squeeze around the outside of it just to the left of the barrier, behind a tree.

Your aim is to go through 50 Alliance soldiers without exploding on a barrier and after reaching 100% progress, to go and detonate on the commander. That will complete the world quest with one soul and grant you the achievement.

As a bit of extra info; Occasionally your soul may just randomly explode for no apparent reason. This is unfortunately just bad luck as it means a barrier has just respawned right under you.

Good luck. This is a bit of a finicky achievement. If you fail, remember you only need a 110 horde player to attempt this world quest. So alts come in very handy (not sure about class trials if you wanna go that route)

Edit: Currently the 'Toggle Run/Walk' button (default on the keyboard is " NumPad / ") will allow you to slow the soul down to a crawl, completely trivializing this achievement. This is obviously not intended, so may be hotfixed any day now.

This one definitely takes some practice to learn what is gonna blow you up and what is not. Don't get annoyed when you don't get it on first try.

You can use your toggle run/walk keybind for this one.

Besides, you're not in any hurry so you can run in circles until u feel safe about moving further because of all those respawning barriers.
Respawns are 30 seconds or something close to that.

Is it just me or this world quest hasn't been up for ages now on EU? I've seen it once on first few days of 8.1, screwed up the achievement that time, and haven't seen it since. I was watching each and every Drustvar Assault that came after that (like 15+ already) and nothing. It's starting to bother me pretty much.

A few extra tips for this quest:

You want to toggle walk/run AFTER you are in the Doomsoul and moving. I tried toggling it before jumping in the vehicle, but it doesn't affect your speed inside.
It may seem like your Doomsoul will "randomly" explode, but it's simply due to barriers respawning. Don't be afraid to find an open space and just do circles, so you can note where EVERY barrier around you is located and avoid them carefully. I only went for the patrolling mobs that walked separate from the barriers, and didn't try and risk it with any stationary groups.
As aforementioned, give the barriers a WIDE berth. It may appear that you are dodging a barrier/going past it, but you only typically need to be within a few yards of a barrier to explode. Use extra care!
If the boss is greyed out, you should still get credit from hitting him (that was the case for me).

This achievement is really easy if you have a friend to help you out. You and your friend get into a Doomsoul but the one getting the achievement don't 'let go' of their Doomsoul. The friend goes around, gathering 100%, that player can die as much as they want, but the one holding the Doomsoul back just sits there and waits for 100%. Then when it's at 100%, the person getting the achievement lets go of the Doomsoul, toggle the slow-walking and then carefully makes their way all the way up to the Commander and curses him. Done! \o/

Completed April 20th, 2020 - The run/walk toggle still works as of today.

I got it on my first try with some of the tips presented here but I noticed that you will probably have a much better time doing it in the early early morning hours when there is less people attempting this assault. Which may be tricky as you can't choose when the WPvP World Quests trigger - if you get lucky it can trigger late and you can do it when the server is less populated; but this allows you to avoid respawning barricades caused by other players blowing them up, and maximizes patrols you can clear by just running through them.

You can in fact still squeeze around the final barricade on the left side, by going between the mountain wall and the tree - you can jump in this spot and get past if you seem to get stuck between the tree and the wall - and then just run into the boss. You don't even have to press your 2 Action Button to detonate.

Just did this on 11/1/2020 in Shadowlands pre-patch and the walk/run toggle still works, it makes it a lot easier too.

I just ran through patrols, completely giving the shields and barriers a wide berth when possible as the hitbox seem kind of treacherous, then I squeezed in between the mountain rocks and the final barrier before the Commander on the left side of the barrier and BOOM, tadaaa.

As others have said, the trick to getting this achieve is to use the RP walk toggle AFTER you get into your Doomsoul to make this a lot easier for yourself.

Run around and get the patrolling groups ONLY. Do NOT go for any stationary mobs near any form of fencing or barricade. Just wait for the patrol packs to respawn (they respawn quickly) and run around in circles till you fill the bar. Then head north on the LEFT side of the WQ area near the river to bypass the barricades. First you'll pass a tree stump, then you'll be faced with getting to the commander who is behind a full length barricade. The trick to getting to him is once again on the LEFT side. Head to the base of the cliff and you should be able to squeeze through in-between a couple trees and the rock face. Once passed, just nuke the commander and you're done!
