For this achievement your raid group will have to steal 3 shinies from each of the enemies in the Champions of the Light encounter, and bring them to the Mysterious Trashpile. You will have to steal 9 shinies in total: 3 from the Disciples, 3 from the Crusaders and 3 from the Champion.

Additionally this achievement requires everyone in the raid to interact with the Mysterious Trashpile to get the Jani's Favor debuff. During the boss fight players will get transformed into saurids and get an extra action button to use on the enemies to steal one shiny coin.

Once your raid group has handed in the 9 shiny coins (3 from each npc type) you can kill the boss and get the achievement.

We tried this achievement today, it took us a while, but finally figured out a few things. It looks like you can only collect the exact amount, collecting more coins will fail the achievement.
Another thing that we did was to leave the initial adds alive, and only steal from those first 3.
We found that someone dying failed the achievement as well.
The order of adds we stole coins from was: Crusader > Disciple > Boss

The addon Instance Achievement Tracker helped tremendously!

Just got this achievement on 2/3/2019, and I'll just clarify what we had to do to get it. Alliance side by the way.

Goal: Get 12 total coins from the boss mobs- 3 from EACH disciple, 3 from the crusader, 3 from the boss.

Nobody can die.
No more then 3 coins from each add.

1) Have everyone in your raid get the debuff from the pile of trash to the left of the entrance.
2) Mark each disciple with a mark, we used X and Skull.
3) Hero on pull, DPS boss low, but don't kill it.
4) 3 people will get turned into saurids at a time, have them each grab a coin from whatever mob your choosing to do then run it to the pile that you got your debuff from. We went Disciple Skull, Disciple X, Crusader, and then boss. So the 1st 3 saurids got Disciple Skull, the next 3 got X, next 3 on crusader, next 3 on boss.
5) If you get more saurids after having all the coins, just don't do anything. Period. Don't go get another coin.
6) Kill Boss, Profit.

Hardest achievement at least of the ones from the first 5 bosses because it just takes a lot of coordination.

Since the hotfix that requires everyone to have the buff, the achievement works a little bit differently, that's why there are conflicting reports about whether you need 3 or 6 from disciples or if people can be dead or not.

The real trick is: The boss needs to die when NO one is currently transformed into a saurid. If someone is transformed, they actually get a different buff than the trash pile buff, and the trash pile buff is temporarily removed.

If you are having trouble with this achievement, get the achievement requirements, get the boss low, and then when the 30 second saurid debuff falls off the 3 people, finish killing the boss.

To be extra sure, we just got this with 3 from crusader, 3 from disciple, 3 from boss, no one dead, no one transformed on boss death.

Just did the achievement with several dead people, still got it. But I can't say if anyone was a saurid at the moment of the kill.

Hi Guys, I think i've figured out the key to the achievement:

1). YOU must loot the same add 3x and not a different add. So basically mark one of the crusaders at the start and loot 3x coins from him. Then kill the adds and then mark a disciple from the next wave and loot 3x from the marked disciple. Finally then loot the boss 3x.

2). Bloodlust and kill the boss but make SURE that no one is a raptor and everyone is ALIVE.

Those were the steps we did and we got the achieve just now after a couple of tries which were as people have already stated as bugged.

There is a lot of confusion with this achievement so hopefully I can try and clear some things up. The requirements to complete the achievement are as follows:

Requirements to complete the achievement:

Every player must click on the Mysterious Trashpile before pulling the boss to pick up Jani's Favor debuff
You will have to steal 9 shinies in total: 3 from the Disciples, 3 from the Crusaders and 3 from the Champion and return the shinies to the trashpile.
- It does not matter which disciple/crusader you steal from as long as you have stolen 3 in total. For example you could steal 1 shiny from the first wave of disciples and 2 from the next wave of disciples or any other combination you wish.
- If you steal more than 3 shinies from one type of mob, this will not fail the achievement. For example if you end up stealing 5 from the crusaders and 3 from disciples and 3 from the boss this is totally fine.

Misconception / Hotfixes:

Players who are dead at the end of the fight won't get the achievement and/or no-one will get achievement?
FALSE - When the achievement was first introduced this was the case. However this has since been hotfixed. The reason this happened was because dead players lost the Jani's Favor debuff when they died. However blizzard has since fixed this and players no longer loose the debuff.
PROOF - Players still have the Jani's Favor debuff when dead
You will not get the achievement if players are saurids/dinosaurs at the end of the fight?
FALSE - This was another bug on blizzard side but has again been hotfixed. Players being saurids at the end of fight will no longer fail the achievement
PROOF - This one is pretty hard to see but I've highlighted in red 3 players who are saurids just as the boss was about to die. The debuff is ever so slightly different (more green) compared to the Jani's Favor debuff

Tracking the achievement:

I would really recommend using my addon Instance Achievement Tracker to track this achievement. I wouldn't normally plug it like this but I think a lot of the problems are stemming from miscounting how many shinies have been stolen from a particular mob and/or player not returning shinies within the allocated time period. It has not helped with the achievement being very buggy initially.

The addon will announce in chat every time a player has successfully returned a shiny. E.g "<playername> has stolen from <mob name> (1/3)"

Once all requirements have been met, it will announce in chat it is now safe to kill the boss.

Hopefully this should help getting the achievement easier and clear up some of the confusion.

The addon tracking didn't seem to work for us, so it got very confusing. What you do is when you get transformed into the raptor, go near one of the adds, use your extra action button. This will give you a golden looking debuff. Run on top of the pile, and this debuff goes away.

We didn't manage to track this at all, so we basically ended up doing 1 at the time, a minimum of 3 times. Don't worry about stealing too many coins, this seems to have been an issue earlier on, but it doesn't cause any issues now.

We also had people dead at end due to boss enrage, and we/they still got achievement.

A few additional details you may find useful,

1) When you bring the stolen coins to the Mysterious Trashpile you will automatically lose your saurid form, transforming back into your normal race – we used this to confirm we received credit for the coins – some addons appear to only track when a coin is stolen, not when its placed in the trashpile.
2) The saurid transformation will last for 30 seconds.
3) Tanks will not be transformed – both healers and DPS can be.
4) A single player (non-tank) can be transformed more then 1 time.
5) I can confirm dead players will get the achievement.
6) Three (3) players will be transformed at a time into Saurids. We had each group of 3 target one specific mob type. Our order was crusader, boss, disciple – this allowed us to kill the first wave of mobs after taking our first 3 coins from the crusader.

Our guild was having issues with this - we did SIX disciple coins (there are two disciples at the beginning of the fight, assuming it's weird wording), we DIDNT keep the OG adds up after we'd stolen from them and we ensured that there were no people transformed as the boss died. 3xcrusader>3xdiscipleA>3xdiscipleB>3xboss

Soloed on normal as protection warrior (ilvl 444).
You get the extra action button every 40sec (it's important to plan around that).
I was able to get ride of the debuff with heroic leap in lucky moments.
